Apple moved the 27.2 developer train on September 21. iOS 27.2 beta 2 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 2 share build 24B5089g. That replaces the September 16 seed 24B5084k we logged when the first 27.2 beta landed.
Public iPhone and iPad tip is unchanged. Day 8 after the September 14 drop, iOS 27.0 / iPadOS 27.0 is still 24A437. The security releases index still points the latest iOS / iPadOS 27 advisory at that same date. No 27.0.1 row. No public 27.1 row either.

27.2 beta 2 builds on Apple Developer

Yesterday’s day-7 frozen-beta note still had every companion OS stuck on the first 27.2 seed. That freeze is over for devices on the Developer Beta track. Settings, General, Software Update should offer 24B5089g on iPhone and iPad once the catalog refreshes. About should show the same string after install.
Separate from the build sheet: our News desk covered one unfinished item inside this seed, the AutoLock anti-snatch code still off for testers. That feature write-up is not a second build number. The firmware string for phones and tablets is still 24B5089g.
Public tip still 24A437 on day 8
iOS 27.0 and iPadOS 27.0 stay 24A437. Apple’s public date on that row remains September 14. The shipping-build note for public 24A437 still holds. Companion public rows from the same day are also unchanged: macOS 27.0 is 26A428, tvOS 27.0 is 24J361, visionOS 27.0 is 24M362, watchOS 27.0 is 24R364. iOS 26.7 / iPadOS 26.7 remains 23H24 for devices still on the prior major.
support.apple.com/100100 still shows no newer iOS / iPadOS 27 security advisory after September 14. Software Update looking empty on a public device is expected while Apple keeps 24A437 as the tip.

Xcode rows did not move with beta 2
The September 21 device seed did not bring a matching Xcode bump on the releases page. Stable Xcode 27 is still 27A266a from September 14. Xcode 27.2 beta stays 27B5019j from September 16. Xcode 27.1 beta stays 27A9269 from September 18. None of those IDE strings changed overnight with 24B5089g.
What Apple has not confirmed
As of this morning’s check of developer.apple.com/news/releases/ and the security releases index, Apple has not posted:
- iOS 27.0.1 or iPadOS 27.0.1
- A public iOS 27.1 / iPadOS 27.1 row
- A public calendar date for iOS 27.2
- A newer iOS / iPadOS 27 security advisory after September 14
- A fresh Xcode seed tied to 27.2 beta 2
Apple has not listed a 27.2 public beta on the same releases feed either. Registered developers who want the second seed stay on Settings, General, Software Update with the iOS 27 Developer Beta option selected. iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS still cannot be downgraded after an update installs. Keep a backup before any beta install.
