Apple opened the first public beta of iOS 27.2 on September 22, 2026. MacRumors and 9to5Mac both clocked the seed the same afternoon. It lands one day after developer beta 2.
The public path is the first easy look for non-developers. The headline piece is the redesigned Health app Apple showed at the September iPhone event.
Insights, Longevity, and Health Age in the beta
MacRumors says Insights and Longevity are the new tabs. Insights pulls recent rings, heart rate, sleep score, and vitals. Longevity looks across longer history and calculates Health Age from activity, VO2 max, sleep, and related metrics.
Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners also see a readiness score built from recent activity, vitals, and sleep. Movement checks for flexibility, balance, and strength can run on iPhone with Watch heart-rate data. Getting the richer screens still wants an Apple Watch or another fitness device that feeds Health.
Quest labs for $119 show up in the beta
Apple and Quest Diagnostics described a preventive panel with more than 50 biomarkers for $119, plus biometrics such as blood pressure and waist measures, at about 2,000 Quest sites in the U.S. Results were promised back into Health. Official wording still said later this year.
9to5Mac’s Zac Hall reported on September 22 that scheduling and purchasing those Quest labs is now live inside the Health app on the iOS 27.2 beta. Earlier MacRumors hands-on notes from September 16 only covered uploading existing lab PDFs. The beta is moving faster than the September press language.
MacRumors also cautions that the redesigned Health app is not locked to ship inside the final iOS 27.2 cut. Apple still lists the wider Health redesign for later in 2026. Public beta is an early try, not a guarantee of what lands in October.
Siri AI languages and the rest of the seed
Siri AI support in this beta expands beyond English to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. That matches the October window Apple named when English Siri AI opened. Our earlier note on the English Siri AI beta rollout already flagged those five languages for the next month.
Other items listed for the 27.2 train: Dual Capture in Group FaceTime, Apple TV app profiles on iPhone, Podcasts renaming Up Next to New Episodes with color-matched episode lists, and a quieter color treatment for Apple Music labels.
How to install, and what is not this story
Sign up at Apple’s beta site, then open Settings → General → Software Update. Companion public betas for iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, watchOS 27.2, and tvOS 27.2 went out the same day.

Apple has not published a public release date for 27.2 beyond an October window in reporting. Stay on 27.0 if you need a quiet daily driver. Public beta still means unfinished software.
