Apple opened the first public beta path for iOS 27.2 on September 22. MacRumors and 9to5Mac both logged the seed that afternoon. It sits one day after developer beta 2.

Public beta path opens; developer tip stays 24B5089g
Apple Developer Releases still lists iOS 27.2 beta 2 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 2 as 24B5089g from September 21. That is the same seed we logged in yesterday’s beta 2 companion OS table. It replaced the first 27.2 seed 24B5084k.
MacRumors says public betas also landed for iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and watchOS 27.2. Enrollment is through Apple’s beta site, then Settings, General, Software Update with the Public Beta option selected.
Apple’s Developer Releases page does not post a separate public-beta build string. The last confirmed 27.2 row there is still developer beta 2 / 24B5089g. Check Settings, General, About after install if you need the exact public catalog string on your phone.

Shipping tip still 24A437 on day 9
Day 9 after the September 14 public drop. iOS 27.0 and iPadOS 27.0 remain 24A437. Companion public rows from that day are unchanged: macOS 27.0 is 26A428, tvOS 27.0 is 24J361, visionOS 27.0 is 24M362, watchOS 27.0 is 24R364. iOS 26.7 / iPadOS 26.7 stays 23H24 for devices still on the prior major.
support.apple.com/100100 still points the latest iOS / iPadOS 27 security advisory at September 14. No 27.0.1 row. No public 27.1 row. Software Update looking empty on a stock device is expected while Apple keeps 24A437 as the tip.

Xcode rows did not move overnight
Stable Xcode 27 is still 27A266a from September 14. Xcode 27.2 beta stays 27B5019j from September 16. Xcode 27.1 beta stays 27A9269 from September 18. None of those IDE strings changed with the September 22 public-beta open. The Xcode 27.1 beta note still matches the releases feed.
What Apple has not confirmed
As of this morning’s check of developer.apple.com/news/releases/ and the security releases index, Apple has not posted:
- A public-beta build string for iOS 27.2 on the Developer Releases page
- iOS 27.0.1 or iPadOS 27.0.1
- A public iOS 27.1 / iPadOS 27.1 row
- A public calendar date for shipping iOS 27.2
- A newer iOS / iPadOS 27 security advisory after September 14
- A fresh Xcode seed after the September 22 public-beta open
App Store Connect API 4.5 did land on September 22 on the same releases feed. That is not an iPhone build. iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS still cannot be downgraded after an update installs. Keep a backup before any beta install.
