U.S. iPhone buyers who expected certain Siri Apple Intelligence features in 2024–2025 can now file for cash. The official claim site, SmartphoneAISettlement.com, opened the window on September 21. It runs through December 21, 2026. Apple agreed in May to put $250 million into the fund. The company still denies the allegations.
This is the same case our site flagged earlier when the final approval hearing date was set. The practical change this month is simple: the claim form is live, and the clock is running.
Who can file, and which phones count
Eligibility is narrow. You must live in the United States. You must have bought an Eligible Device in the U.S. for personal or professional use, not for resale, between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
Eligible models, per the settlement site: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. One cash payment per eligible device. A second qualifying phone needs a second form.
How much money, and when it might arrive
A valid claim starts at an estimated $25 per device. That figure can rise, pro rata, up to $95 if fewer claims land than expected. It can also drop if the pool gets crowded. Notice, administration, taxes, attorney fees, and any class-representative awards come out of the $250 million before class members are paid.
Do not expect a deposit this month. A San Jose district court hearing to decide final approval is set for February 24, 2027. MacRumors and CBS both note payments are unlikely until sometime after that hearing, and appeals can push the calendar further.
What the lawsuit said Apple advertised
In June 2024 Apple previewed personal-context Siri features under Apple Intelligence. Demos included asking about a mother’s flight or lunch plans using Mail and Messages. Those capabilities also showed up on the website and in a TV spot with Bella Ramsey.
In March 2025 Apple delayed the personalized Siri launch. Plaintiffs sued for false advertising. Apple later said it settled to stay focused on shipping products. Siri AI itself finally shipped in beta with iOS 27 on September 14 for English on supported iPhones. That does not cancel the claim window for older purchase dates.
Owners still waiting on other iOS 27 bug trains can keep an eye on the early-next-week Face ID fix window. That track is separate from this settlement.
How to submit without a mailer PIN
Some class members get email with a Claim ID and PIN. The site also lets you file without those codes. The form asks for personal details plus the phone’s serial number. If you skip the serial, it asks for the Apple Account email and the phone number that was on that device.
Payout choices listed in coverage include PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, or a paper check. Wired’s walkthrough matches the same December 21 cutoff. Read the site’s opt-out and exclusion language before you click submit. Judicial officers on the case and their immediate families are already out of the class.
