Friday, September 18 is the U.S. and first-wave availability day for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple still puts that date on the Newsroom page. Pre-orders opened Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. Pacific. Plenty of late baskets already show later delivery. Store pickup is the other lane for people who missed a launch-week ship window.
What still lands on September 18
Apple lists availability beginning Friday, September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions, including the United States and the United Kingdom. A second wave of about 20 countries and regions follows on Friday, September 25. Early pre-orders can still show September 18 for delivery. Later online orders are the ones that slipped.
That slip showed up clearly on Monday, September 14. MacRumors checked the U.S. Apple Store online. Pro configs were listing September 29 to October 6. Pro Max configs were listing October 6 to October 13. Our earlier note on those iPhone 18 Pro online ship windows matches what shoppers still see on many late carts.
How to check store pickup
Open apple.com or the Apple Store app. Pick a model, color, and storage. Then look for Pick up from Store and a nearby Apple Store. Inventory moves through the day. A config that is gone at noon can return after cancellations. A config that looks open can disappear after a rush.
Finishes are black, silver, glacier, and burgundy. Capacities are 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Popular mixes clear first once doors open. Carriers and other retailers may hold some launch-day stock separate from apple.com delivery queues. That stock is not the same pool as online ship dates.
Keep a late pre-order until pickup is real
If an existing online order already shows a later delivery estimate, do not cancel it first. Confirm a launch-day pickup or a walk-in purchase, then cancel. Popular configurations go quickly once stores open. A canceled late order can leave you with neither a delivery slot nor a pickup slot.
Pro Max has been tighter than Pro on several online checks. That gap can change before Friday. Pickup availability is store-by-store. It is not a national guarantee.
Duo stays on its own calendar
iPhone Duo is not part of the September 18 Pro wave. Pre-orders for Duo start Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific. Availability begins October 23 in the first group of countries. Camera and hinge coverage sits in our Duo camera note, separate from Pro pickup questions.
