HONOR officially released the world’s first mass-produced robot phone, Robot Phone, on August 12, materializing the mechanical gimbal design that had only existed in the concept stage in the past. This new camera, which focuses on mobile photography and videography, incorporates a 4DoF titanium alloy robotic arm and dual 200MP shooting specifications into a compact body. Together with ARRI’s professional imaging technology and YOYO Robot Mode, it brings a new control experience and possibility to mobile video creation.
HONOR officially released the much-anticipated new flagship device HONOR Robot Phone. This product, which was regarded as a concept machine by the outside world when it was unveiled at the MWC 2026 conference, has now actually entered the mass production stage.
In terms of body design, HONOR has successfully packed the titanium alloy gimbal and 4DoF robotic arm into a compact body. This is the smallest all-titanium alloy gimbal structure in the industry, and it is also equipped with the lightest titanium alloy motor. By introducing new materials, the volume of the overall system has been reduced by 65%, and the structural strength has been increased by 200%. The gimbal’s rotation speed reaches 360 degrees per second, allowing the lens to flexibly turn in a very short time.
The 4DoF mechanical structure is the core highlight of the entire camera module, and its gimbal is composed of more than a hundred precision parts. This system supports multiple camera modes such as AI Spinshot, Tilt Locked, Super Steady, FPV and FPV vertical shooting. In terms of software functions, the device has added a special YOYO Robot Mode. Users can control the camera through voice commands, gestures and AI tracking. Even if the subject is moving, the lens can automatically lock it in the center of the screen.
In terms of camera specifications, HONOR Robot Phone is equipped with a 200MP gimbal main lens, which uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It also combines a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
In addition to the hardware structure, the image performance also uses technical support from the German professional camera brand ARRI. The device is built-in with three main ARRI professional tools. Among them, Log-C encoding can linearly correspond to the exposure of the sensor through a mathematical curve to maximize the dynamic range and retain the details of highlights and shadows to facilitate professional color grading. The LUT color gamut workflow converts flat and original HDR digital images into a standard visual color space, presenting natural skin tones and film-level contrast. As for Cinema Mode, it focuses on replicating the color reproduction capabilities and professional aesthetics of film-grade photosensitive elements.
In terms of other hardware configurations, this new device has a built-in 7060mAh battery, supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, and is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor to provide strong performance support.
HONOR Robot Phone offers multiple capacity versions for consumers to choose from. The 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM version is priced at RMB 9,999, while the highest-end 16GB RAM + 1TB ROM version is priced at RMB 12,999. Official information shows that the pre-sale of the new phone will officially start at 8:30 pm today, and is scheduled to be officially launched at 10:08 am on August 18. Sales channels include HONOR mall, authorized e-commerce platforms, authorized experience stores and authorized retail stores. In order to attract users to upgrade, those who purchase the entire series during the first sale period can enjoy a one-year worry-free gimbal replacement service.
