DevOps Lab #3: Install Ubuntu Server VM on VMware Fusion

In this video, we continue building our local DevOps Lab on a MacBook M1 using VMware Fusion.

In the previous video, we prepared the environment by installing VMware Fusion, downloading Ubuntu Server, and creating a custom VMnet network.

Now it’s time to create our first Ubuntu Server virtual machine.

In this video, you’ll see how to:

✅ Create a custom Ubuntu Server ARM64 virtual machine in VMware Fusion
✅ Configure CPU and memory for the VM
✅ Configure storage and increase the virtual disk
✅ Connect the VM to our custom DevOps lab network
✅ Install Ubuntu Server
✅ Configure a static IP address
✅ Configure gateway and DNS
✅ Verify Internet connectivity
✅ Check the IP route and network configuration
✅ Access the Ubuntu VM through SSH
✅ Enable root SSH access for lab purposes
✅ Verify root login

The VM created in this video will become the foundation for our Jenkins environment.

In the next video, we’ll install Jenkins and add another Ubuntu VM as a Jenkins agent, and then we’ll start building our CI/CD environment.
