thank you, but what I need to do is print a 5 x 7 on 8 1/2 x 11 or regular plain paper. How do I set that up? It keeps giving me an error message because I have a large print but I want to print 5 x 7, does that make sense?
THANK YOU! I just fixed this in one easy step after months of having to push ok to print. My settings was on glossy paper for printing stickers (my daughter did that) and my printer was on plain paper. Now it's all good for printing!

This would not happen if the printer had no paper settings on it at all. That's how my old Epson cartridge printer worked, and it was never a problem. Now changing from paper to envelopes and back is a pain. But, since I only have one printer I turned the printer error message off. So, thanks for that.
I have no option for card stock and letter and plain paper are selected on both printer and computer. Now what?
I see that 3 years ago I asked you several questions and you never answered. I have never changed anything and this error has recently started up when I use card stock but I've used card stock off and on for years and am just now getting this message.
I didn’t want to disable the message but oh my goodness is it annoying, and everything matched. I checked printer properties (which can be done inside windows, on the printer, and inside the print properties of the application). I ended up closing all programs, restarting computer and printer and no more error message. IT 101, turn it off and back on again

4 YEARS LATER? I bought my ET2800 Jan 2026. It's Feb 2026. If I wouldn't have found this information after a month of having to press ok for every print on my wireless printer, I was tossing this Epson out! In my resolution journey, I cannot believe HOW MANY FIX ISSUES THE BRAND HAS ON YT! OMG! I'm not waiting for more issues to arise. I'm getting a better option, not Epson! I' have a business to run and fixing and spending countless hours looking for help is not one of them! This one was minor. I saw others with worse. I'm not waiting for the next issue. I forgot to mention that it took 2 weeks to get the Wi-Fi to work correctly! Thank you for this post!

I did all that and I still get the error. I don't want to shut it off. I think this is why my photos are coming out dark. Funny the first two were fine. Also my computer settings don't exactly match the printer settings.
Thank you i swear Letter was the standard 8.5×11 but ti always got the error I swear it worked at one point but its been doing it for awhile and i just said i dont have time for this. Got glossy prints to work for me with my photography changed it back but it wouldnt print regular. I just changed it to A4 and it prints without prompt and proper size now

This question may not apply however, the problem I have is whenever I print, I have an epson 8550 it hardly ever comes out to the exact size, It's so frustrating, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I play with the printer settings on my computer but I don't know what to do to make it the exact size of my project.
On the printer display, navigate to:
Settings → General Settings → Printer Settings → Paper Source Settings → Error Notice,
and set Paper Size Notice and Paper Type Notice to "Off"
Thanks for the information about this error. I've been using printers for years and have never had as much trouble than with the Epson 4800 which is new. Why do printer manufacturers make it more & more confusing? Set this set that, I would have thought that once you set up your printer and computer settings the same you wouldn't have any problems but no , Ive struggled since I bought this machine 2 mths ago. Where have all the plug & play machines gone. My other Epson, HP, and Brother never had this problem. It seems to me they are defaulting to the letter US standard. I personally use the A4 all the time and frequently have to change the settings. Now I'm going to try the disabling button to see if it's ok for me. Thank you again for your help, Epson should be paying you as their techies are useless.xxxxx❤

I just got an Epson printer and used a Utube subscriber to hook it up. I was still having problems and knew I did everything right. Well so thankful to find your video because getting that error about paper size. I had a Canon and it was not picky like this Epson. The paper size is what I don’t know how to fix so hope this video solves my problem. I did not have so many things to press on the Canon plus the screen is so small. I use the same paper always and print small things. You really know your printers. I am retired a long time so have to stay educated on this world of computers, smart phones etc. Thanks and will let you know if I get this fixed. I don’t understand the reason behind a printer needing to know the size of paper. New to me.
