Apple’s first foldable comes with two first-party covers. The iPhone Duo Case is $79. The iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand is $129. Both show on Apple’s education and retail accessory pages with MagSafe and Qi2 25W charging called out.
Duo itself still opens for pre-order on October 16, 2026. Availability starts October 23. That window was unchanged in this week’s lead-time and Duo pre-order check. Cases sit in the same shopping bag flow once orders unlock.
Duo Case at $79, Sand and Navy Blue
Apple’s product copy describes a thin two-part shell. It wraps the front and back of the folded phone. The material is polycarbonate with a matte coating. Colors are Sand and Navy Blue.
Built-in magnets line up with Duo’s MagSafe array. Apple’s shop text says that keeps wireless charging consistent with the case on. You can snap a MagSafe charger, or set the phone on a Qi2 25W or Qi-certified pad without removing the case.
GSMArena and MacRumors both logged the same two SKUs on September 9, the day Duo was unveiled. Apple’s Newsroom photos show the Navy Blue and Sand shells closed on the outer display.
Folio with Kickstand at $129, Taupe and Navy Blue
The Folio takes a different path. It uses TechWoven, Apple’s technical fabric, and covers the back rather than wrapping every edge. Colors are Taupe and Navy Blue. Price is $129 in the U.S., with £129 and €149 listed in European coverage.
An integrated kickstand folds flush when unused. It props the phone at multiple angles for video, reading, or FaceTime. Apple says MagSafe charging still works behind the kickstand when the stand is open. That matches how iPad Smart Folio style covers fold back instead of coming off for the outer screen.
MacRumors notes the Folio does not wrap the outer display the way the hard Case does. Buyers who want edge-to-edge shell protection on both panels will lean toward the $79 Case. Buyers who want a fabric back and a stand will pay the Folio premium.
MagSafe and Qi2 25W on both covers
Duo’s own specs page lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. Both official covers keep that path open. Third-party MagSafe packs are a separate story. Circular packs from PETL and Duo-shaped banks from Baseus are already marketing fit around the hinge and camera island, but those accessories are not Apple first-party.
Apple’s Case and Folio pages say each design goes through thousands of hours of testing. That is the same line Apple uses across its polycarbonate and fabric iPhone cases. No standalone drop rating is published beyond that claim.
Timing with Oct 16 pre-orders and iOS 27.1
Duo ships on iOS 27.1. We tracked that build window when Duo’s October 23 software plan landed. Accessory stock usually appears in the same Apple Store bag once hardware pre-orders open. As of this morning, the Case and Folio product pages are live for browsing, with purchase timing tied to the phone’s order date.
