iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max went on sale September 18, 2026. Within days, buyers started logging sudden shutoffs that restart themselves. Seoul Economic Daily’s Cho Su-yeon filed the English report on September 20. The analytics name that shows up is panic-full.

Asamo, a Korean iPhone community, collected early posts. Asiae ran a matching English write-up the same day. Reddit threads in the U.S. describe the same pattern. The phones are only a few days past the September 18 store launch.

Panic-full logs after Face ID and Apple Pay

Users say the handset freezes, powers off, then boots again. Triggers they name most often sit around Apple Pay and Face ID. Banking apps. Photos Recently Deleted. Apple Wallet. One Pro Max owner said a reboot hit around 9 p.m. on September 19 during Face ID in Apple Pay, shortly after initial setup.

Another Asamo post said Apple Pay was opening when the phone cut power. That user also uploaded a panic-full log from Analytics Data. “I’ve already moved all my data over to the new phone,” the post said, asking what to do next.

Exchanges and refunds in Korea

Some Korean buyers did not wait. One said a service center approved an exchange for the panic-full issue. Another went to an Apple Store and got a refund. Staff told that customer the error could be software, according to the Sedaily account.

“I’ve used iPhones for 10 years and this was the first time I got a panic full,” that refund customer wrote. Uneasy enough to walk the phone back.

Apple Korea has not issued a formal statement. Sedaily says Apple is understood to be looking into it. Software versus hardware is still unconfirmed.

Reports outside Korea

On Reddit, one iPhone 18 Pro owner counted about five forced reboots. Most tied to Face ID. Each left a panic-full log. The same user said they recorded video of one incident.

Another Reddit report covered a Pro Max: three Face ID reboots and one while loading Apple Wallet, all inside 24 hours of purchase. Resetting Face ID calmed things briefly, then Wallet triggered another reboot. Separate notes mention a reboot during Apple Music after a reset. The overseas reports match the Korean pattern, not a single-store glitch.

How to check Analytics Data

A panic-full entry means the phone shut down on a fatal system error, then restarted and saved a log. Path: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data. Look for names that begin with panic-full.

There is a recent precedent. iPhone 16 in 2024 also drew freeze and restart complaints after launch. Apple later addressed those with an iOS update. That history does not prove the 18 Pro case is software-only. It only shows the pattern is not brand new.

Public iOS 27 on new Pro units is still tracking build 24A437. Day-one update notes for the launch window are in a separate brief. If Face ID itself feels sticky after a reboot loop, the site’s Reset Face ID tip is a separate how-to, not a fix claim for panic-full.
