IT House News on September 11th, technology media AppleInsider published a blog post today (September 11th), reporting that although Apple’s first foldable iPhone Duo supports multi-tasking view, the native iOS 27.1 system cannot play two videos at the same time.
The media pointed out that Apple iPhone Duo runs iOS (it will be pre-installed with iOS 27.1 system after its release in October) and retains the audio priority restrictions of other iPhones and iPads. After the user starts the second video, the originally playing video will be paused.
In addition, the dual-screen design does not change the rules of the system’s primary audio source. When a user launches content with sound in a social media app, the music originally playing may be paused.
The outlet also pointed out that picture-in-picture, split-screen and dual-screen modes do not allow 2 videos to be played in parallel. Even if the videos are displayed on the external screen and internal screen of iPhone Duo respectively, the system will not provide a way to play dual videos at the same time.
IT House inquired about relevant information. On some Android folding phones, two videos can be played in parallel with the help of certain tools. For example, on Samsung foldable phones, users install Good Lock, enable the Sound Assistant module, and set up “Multi sound for all apps” to enable two video apps to play sound at the same time.
