Apple has just released the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. As in previous years, their exclusive wallpapers have become gadgets that many people want to try even if they have no plans to replace their phones. The good news is that you don’t have to spend nearly 1,500 euros on a new Pro model to give your iPhone a new look. The new iPhone 18 Pro wallpapers are now available for download and can be used on previous models. Although there are some minor differences compared to the original that Apple includes by default in its new devices.
These wallpapers are pulled directly from the iOS 27 release candidate, and there are four different versions. You can download the full-resolution version and save it directly to the Photos app to set it as your wallpaper later in the app or in iOS settings. However, there is an important distinction to note. The original wallpapers used by Apple in iOS are dynamic and can react to device movements and certain interactions. While these downloadable versions are static images, the visuals will be nearly identical, minus those subtle animations that Apple uses to better blend wallpapers with the system interface. Currently, the exclusive wallpapers for the new iPhone Duo have not yet been released. These wallpapers may be rolled out later, perhaps with iOS 27.1, as they were not included in the first release candidate for iOS 27.
I personally always find the wallpapers Apple designs for each generation of products very interesting. They’re just background images, but Apple cleverly incorporates them into the design, especially the color scheme, of each new iPhone. They are also a very easy way to make our devices look a few years younger. Installing an iPhone 18 Pro wallpaper on your iPhone 14 Pro won’t magically conjure up a new processor (if only it did!), but it can give the screen a bit of a visual refresh after all, we’ve been staring at the same screen for years. And considering that the iOS lock screen is much more customizable than any previous generation, we can take advantage of this to update the look of the screen without having to buy a new iPhone.
