The main competing product of Akko MetaKey is Clicks, but the latter starts at US$139, while MetaKey is very competitive in terms of price. It is suitable for iPhone 16 Pro Max (now available) for US$59.99 (IT Home Note: The current exchange rate is about 427.7 yuan), and suitable for iPhone 17 Pro Max (not yet available) for US$69.99 (current exchange rate is about 499) RMB), but it will be discounted to US$59.99 for a limited time during the initial launch period (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 427.7).
The core design goal of MetaKey is to free up the screen space occupied by the iOS virtual keyboard so that users can see the complete screen content when entering text. However, adding a keyboard will increase the overall length of the iPhone, which may cause a “top-heavy” imbalance when typing.
To this end, Akko cleverly provides a solution: a 9-gram weight is included in the package, and users can install it on the back of the keyboard as needed, thereby optimizing the overall holding balance of the device and improving the comfort of long-term typing.
In terms of functional configuration, MetaKey is also comprehensive. It connects to the iPhone through a USB-C interface and comes with a USB-C port that supports pass-through charging, ensuring that users can charge their phones even when the keyboard is connected.
The keyboard itself integrates a variety of shortcut keys that can be used to quickly enter numbers, call Siri, use the speech-to-text function, and even has a dedicated scroll mode that turns the top two rows of keys into large scroll keys. In addition, the keyboard is also equipped with a backlight function and a MagSafe magnetic array to ensure trouble-free use at night and is compatible with various magnetic accessories.
