Apple’s iPhone 18 series and the first foldable phone iPhone Duo were officially unveiled, but after the prices in various countries were released, Japanese Apple fans cried out on social platforms. At the same time, Japanese netizens pointed out that on the day of the press conference, the exchange rate of yen against the U.S. dollar in the Tokyo foreign exchange market had rebounded to around 153 yen. However, Apple’s official exchange rate for the new machine fell between 165 and 168 yen per U.S. dollar, which is more than 10 yen higher than the market’s real-time exchange rate. Some netizens criticized “It is clear that the yen has begun to rebound recently, but the pricing is still stuck at the extremely depreciated exchange rate benchmark” and “It would have been better if the yen could have appreciated a month earlier.”
