DJI officially launched the new panoramic camera Osmo 360 II in Hong Kong, bringing comprehensive improvements in image quality and practicality to image creators. The new machine focuses on native 8K 60fps panoramic video recording. With a square sensor designed specifically for panoramic views, it greatly increases light utilization and provides 14.5 levels of dynamic range. In addition to hardware upgrades, Osmo 360 II also has 105GB of built-in storage space. With the new AI protagonist following function and Super Night Scene 2.0 algorithm, it can easily capture high-quality panoramic images whether it is daily recording, high-speed sports or low-light environments. The standard package is priced from HK$3,899 and is available for public sale from now on.
DJI officially launched the new panoramic camera Osmo 360 II in Hong Kong, featuring comprehensive upgrades in image specifications and operating experience. The new generation product is based on DJI’s square sensor technology, combined with high-performance image chips, to provide native 8K 60fps panoramic video recording capabilities. For high-contrast shooting environments, the new camera provides a dynamic range of up to 14.5 levels, and adds a new AI Super Night Scene 2.0 noise reduction algorithm to effectively improve the picture clarity in low-light environments. Osmo 360 II also introduces the protagonist follow function, NFC one-touch connection and AI intelligent editing tools, combined with the built-in 105GB storage space.
In terms of hardware and image processing, Osmo 360 II uses a square sensor designed specifically for panoramic shooting. On the basis of achieving a 1-inch sensor panoramic image field, the photosensitive utilization rate is increased by 25%, thereby reducing power consumption and improving image quality. With 2.4 μm fusion large pixels, even when shooting high-speed moving subjects such as skiing or motorcycles, the 8K 60fps image remains smooth. The lens adopts an f/1.9 aperture design, and the front and rear lenses support independent exposure, allowing more details to be retained when dealing with alternating light and dark scenes such as tunnel entrances or backlighting. The camera also supports shooting 120-megapixel high-dynamic panoramic photos, 16K panoramic time-lapse videos, and 8K 120fps time-frozen videos. Post-production can output up to 64x panoramic slow-motion. All video specifications support 10-bit color depth and D-Log M color mode, making it convenient for professional users to perform post-production color correction.
In terms of software application and operating experience, Osmo 360 II’s newly added protagonist following function can use AI algorithms to automatically identify and track targets. No matter how the camera is turned, the subject can remain in the center of the screen, eliminating the need to recompose the shot later. With the invisible selfie stick function, users can easily record images from a third-person perspective. In terms of post-production, the mobile version of the DJI Mimo app has added an audio analysis function, which can automatically mark highlight moments by identifying environmental sound effects such as cheers, and quickly generate videos. The PC version of DJI Studio provides multi-angle preview editing and multi-dimensional beautification functions, and has a dedicated DaVinci Resolve plug-in so that panoramic materials can be directly imported into professional editing software for processing, further improving the workflow.
In terms of body design and surrounding ecology, the Osmo 360 II has a net weight of 183g. The surface of the lens uses a second-generation optical super-hard diamond film to improve scratch resistance and wear resistance. It also uses an interchangeable lens design to facilitate users to replace it in case of accidental damage. The bare camera is waterproof to 10 meters, and with a fully invisible waterproof case, it can be submerged to a depth of 50 meters. In terms of battery life, the body is equipped with a low-temperature-resistant enhanced battery, which can record continuously for 100 minutes at 8K 30fps specifications, and supports fast charging technology that can charge to 80% in 22 minutes. Users can also choose a two-way magnetic battery life extension rod to get an additional 180 minutes of use. In addition, the camera supports OsmoAudio function and can be directly connected to DJI Mic 3 and Mic Mini 2 wireless microphones. Its magnetic quick-release design and battery are also compatible with the existing Osmo Action series.
DJI Osmo 360 II is officially on sale in official online stores and offline authorized stores starting today. The standard package is priced at HKD 3,899, and the package includes the main unit, a 2150 mAh low-temperature-resistant enhanced battery life, a lens protective sleeve and other accessories. For users who need to take photos for a long time, the manufacturer also offers a shooting package priced at HKD 4,699, which comes with two additional batteries, a multi-functional battery storage box and a 1.2-meter invisible selfie stick. For accidental damage, DJI simultaneously launches the DJI Care Replacement Protection Plan. The one-year version costs HKD 299 and provides two replacement services; the two-year version costs HKD 509 and provides four replacement services.
