Google releases August update! The performance of the Pixel 10 series is expected to improve after installation (picture/data photo)
Google has begun pushing the August 2026 software update to Pixel phones. This time it mainly solves three major bugs and also fixes a security vulnerability classified by Google as “high risk.” Officials say the update will be rolled out in phases over the next week.
According to Google’s announcement, this update covers the Pixel 8 series and above, but in terms of bug fixes, it is almost concentrated on the Pixel 10 series. It mainly improves game stability, graphics performance and touch experience, including correcting the problem that some games may crash under certain circumstances, improving the overall performance of the GPU (graphics processing unit) under certain circumstances, and correcting the occasional unresponsiveness of the touch panel.
As for security, this update fixes a high-risk security vulnerability involving the Video Processing Unit (VPU). However, Google has not further disclosed the details of the vulnerability, so it is currently unable to confirm the actual scope of impact. It is recommended that qualified users complete the update as soon as possible to obtain the latest security protection.
