Samsung has confirmed that it will hold a Galaxy Unpacked conference on July 22, Taiwan time, and the new generation of folding mobile phones will be officially unveiled. According to various sources, Samsung is expected to launch three new phones this year, including the Z Fold8 Ultra, a new wide folding Z Fold8, and the small folding Z Flip8. The most eye-catching one is the wide folding design that debuts for the first time.
In fact, Samsung’s recent series of actions, including warm-up posts on social platforms, invitations to press conferences, etc., have repeatedly hinted at the existence of this new wide-format foldable phone. It is rumored that the biggest feature of the new phone is the new body ratio of “widening and shortening”. The outside world is temporarily calling it Z Fold8. As for the official name, it has yet to be announced at Samsung’s press conference.
However, Samsung has another surprise. The official released a promotional poster on X (formerly known as Twitter) earlier. In the picture, Spider-Man can be seen using his signature spider silk launcher to pull a folding phone towards him. This phone looks to be the long-awaited wide version of Z Fold8.

Although the poster does not fully reveal the appearance of the new phone, it does reveal some details, such as the dual main lens design that is in line with rumors, and the readjusted side button configuration. The button position is obviously closer to the top of the fuselage, which is different from the Z Fold7 design that is located near the center of the fuselage. It also echoes the new machine’s wider and shorter body proportions. Even though the overall appearance still retains a sense of mystery, this is the first time Samsung has officially given the outside world a sneak peek at the design of the new phone.

On the other hand, the new movie “Spider-Man: Resurrection Day” is expected to be released at the end of July. Samsung mobile phones will also be included in the film. The specific model will not be confirmed until the movie is released.
