HONOR recently announced a strategic cooperation with ARRI, the world’s top movie camera manufacturer, and plans to integrate professional film-level imaging technology into its smartphones. According to the latest news, this much-anticipated ARRI imaging feature will not be limited to top models. In the upcoming HONOR Magic 9 series, a flagship model with a slim screen design will also receive related technologies.
According to information revealed by a well-known domestic whistleblower on Weibo, the HONOR Magic 9 series will include a thin-screen flagship phone. The most eye-catching selling point of this model is that it is equipped with a camera system jointly developed by HONOR and ARRI. The two companies established a partnership at the earlier MWC26 exhibition, aiming to break the boundaries between high-end film production and daily mobile phone shooting. By introducing ARRI’s professional color science and film-level workflow, this fine-gloss model is expected to be equipped with a main lens of up to 200 million pixels, allowing ordinary users to easily shoot high-quality images with film colors. It is reported that this technology was originally used in the manufacturer’s first ROBOT PHONE project, and has now been confirmed to be further expanded to the Magic 9 series.
In terms of hardware configuration, the news is that this compact flagship will use a 6.4-inch flat screen, and the manufacturer may cancel the previous “Air” naming method and directly position it as a standard model.
