Xiaomi officially released its new T series smartphones in overseas markets. Different from the previous naming order, the manufacturer skipped the number 16 this time and directly launched two models, Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. The new generation product line has made substantial adjustments in hardware specifications, mainly upgrading the optical zoom capabilities and battery technology of the imaging system, and the overall configuration is further closer to the flagship level.
Xiaomi 17T Pro uses a 6.83-inch 144Hz 12-bit OLED screen that supports 1280p+ resolution and 3,500 nits peak brightness. In order to meet the power consumption needs of high-end hardware, the Pro version has introduced silicon carbon negative battery technology with a silicon content of 16%, increasing the battery capacity to 7,000mAh, and supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. As for the standard version of Xiaomi 17T, it is equipped with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch 120Hz OLED screen, a built-in 6,500mAh battery and supports 67W wired fast charging. Thanks to the high-capacity battery configuration, the body thickness of both phones has increased slightly compared to the previous generation.
On the core computing platform, both mobile phones use MediaTek’s processor solution. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 9500 chip using a 3nm process technology, which has significantly increased its single-core CPU and GPU computing capabilities; the Xiaomi 17T is equipped with the Dimensity 8500 processor designed with a full core architecture. Both devices have built-in Xiaomi 3D IceLoop cooling system and are equipped with 12GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage space. In addition, the Pro version has more complete communication specifications, supporting Wi-Fi 7 and dual Bluetooth 6 connection functions.
The imaging system is the core of this upgrade. Xiaomi 17T series introduces for the first time a 50-megapixel 5x optical periscope telephoto lens with an equivalent focal length of 115mm, replacing the previous generation’s 2x optical module. This telephoto lens supports in-sensor zoom technology to achieve a 10x zoom effect, and has a 30 cm telephoto macro shooting capability. In terms of main lenses, the two models make clear market distinctions. Xiaomi 17T Pro is equipped with a 1/1.31-inch OmniVision Light Fusion 950 sensor, with a single pixel size of 1.2µm; while the standard version of Xiaomi 17T uses a 1/1.55-inch Light Fusion 800 sensor. Both are equipped with Leica Summilux optical lens components and OIS optical anti-shake technology. The Pro version also supports 4K 60fps HDR10+ and Log format recording functions.

In terms of selling price information, in response to the improvement in overall hardware specifications, the European market pricing of the new machine has been increased. The starting price of the Xiaomi 17T basic version is set at 750 euros, while the starting price of the Xiaomi 17T Pro is 900 euros. Both have an increase of 100 euros compared to the previous generation. In order to balance the price adjustment, the manufacturer announced that it will come with limited-time free trial services of Google AI Pro, YouTube Premium and Spotify Premium.
