There are still a few months until Apple’s new generation iPhone 18 Pro series is released, but the first batch of protective cases have been exposed in advance, which also hints at possible camera changes for the new model.
Well-known tipster Majin Bu shared photos of the first batch of protective cases for the iPhone 18 Pro series on X (formerly Twitter). Judging from the visual appearance, the “camera island” behind the new phone seems to be getting larger.
Starting from the iPhone 17 Pro series, Apple has significantly adjusted the camera module design, switching to a rectangular camera island for the first time. The iPhone 18 Pro series protective case exposed this time shows that the new model will continue the same style, but the camera module area appears to be larger, occupying almost a quarter of the back of the fuselage.
This also means that the front and rear protective cases may not be shared. However, it is still only speculated based on the appearance of the protective case, and no specific size information has been leaked, so it cannot be completely confirmed.

If the leaked content is true, a larger camera island may also mean that the iPhone 18 Pro series will have significant upgrades in camera hardware.
