Thanks, Trevor, for taking questions. I’ve been saving call recordings inside Notes, wanting to ‘Save Audio to files’ to be able to share it from there later on. It only works sometimes.
•Apple told me this has been an intermittent problem since iOS 14 (🤦♀️).
•I try both ‘Save Audio to Files’ and ‘Share/Save Audio to Files’. The times it has worked, it goes directly to the Files App to allow me to overwrite the default file name (which is the tape name, not the Note title).
•If it isn’t going to work it shows a progress wheel, the pie slice type, saying “Preparing” and the option to Cancel, but that window always goes away before saving the file.
•Do you have any suggestions?
•I can’t Airdrop to share it, the people aren’t local. (I will be sharing with FTP of several types.) But I have successfully Airdropped the note with the call recording to my iPad.
•Recently, I see the File Save dialogue window very briefly appear as a blank window, then disappear before I could customize the file-save-as name.
•Does this issue of not being able to save the call recording to Files make any sense to you? 🌷🕊️

Your phone understands you better than mine understands me, and I think I annunciate very well. I’m using it now and as you can see, it’s already made one error. I use it a lot with medical terminology and it makes so many errors. I waste more time correcting than it would take just to type it out.

When you were adding the transcript to the note, instead of Copying Transcript, there looked to be an option to “Add transcript to note”. Wouldn’t that involve fewer steps? I haven’t tried it yet. Thanks for this video. It was helpful!
I have an ipad version 2 and I don’t see the little paper clip on my version of notes on my ipad? Can you give me some info?
I used. It’s a lot until I discovered a fatal flaw: occasionally a mistyped entry – ctrl something for example- and there was no undo nor any backup as it is synced to all devices. I nos use google docs which are versioned and use notes for temporary lists or notes that I can lose

Can notes record as you are on the phone call?. Not much point trying to recall what someones advice was as you may get it wrong. Better to actually have it recorded to go back and listen. Can notes do this?
I usually use the voice memo app and then save that recording to a note. The only benefit is that it shifts button pressing from the front end to the back end, allowing me to record a little faster.

Couples points I need clarifying please
1. When typing a note its name is the first few words highlighted which is a nice quick way to get a title .
When recording it just says “ new recording “ each time . Would be useful if the first couple of words you say are picked as the name as well so don’t have to go in and rename .
2. Where does apple have all this information and how to find out about it if there is no people around like yourself or is it just left to the community to self teach ???
