I just got one a few months back (unfortunately dropped it like a week ago and it now has an ugly dent 😭). Upgraded from a M1 Pro and boy it screams!
For me the M4 Pro chip has abysmal battery life – sometimes it's barely 5 hours
Disappointed with this laptop for music production, Lagging, Freezing, pointing arrow always flickering while using softwares! Despite having 24GB of RAM and costing around $2,000, my 13" M1 16gb MacBook Pro still outperforms it and offers better long-term value. Apple isn’t delivering the value customers should expect at this price point anymore.
I bought the m4 pro 16 inch, 24 Gb ram, 512G of SSD. Best Buy has it for 2,250.00 on sale and I pulled the trigger. Especially, hardware for computers will be going through the roof because of the AI power centers hogging up components. Soon apple will be raising their prices after their contract ends guaranteeing their lower component prices.

Max you are the only reason that i am considering to buy a Macbook Pro from despised Apple BUT laptop makers and Microsoft don't do anything for mobile computing and as i see Macbook Pros even air are better for Davinci Resolve and Resolve which is my workflow and i need something portable and powerful and without all these fans noise. I have to admit that Apple made good work on Laptop field. Now i have to surpass the stupid and wall garden ecosystem the fact that i cannot repair my system soldering components and the way of Apple how to operate your machine.

Was going to get the base model but upon examination at Costco the pro chip model was only 300 dollars more and was the simplest snap call I have made this year.
It’s been almost a year since the M4s have been out, but I just picked up a M4 Pro 24 GB, 1 TB at Best Buy on a Labor Day sale for around $2000. It’s decent, but I feel the performance is close to the M3 Max . M3 max might edge it out as it has more cores and ram. I’d like to have more ram, but for $2000 for a brand new laptop, this was a great deal. The 512 was even less; but I work on large graphic files and prefer to have the larger 1 TB. So far so good. We’ll see how it fares in my normal day to day workflow.
Well the m4 base is 1299.99. And the m4 pro is 1799.99
So I'd say the base is better value today.

I bought a Macbook M4pro a couple of months ago, and I regret to say that the M1max is still much better for video editing.
Nobody talks about super strong PWM frequencies on screen of Macbook Pro. Not air cause air doesnt have none of PWM just Pro's have. From all the screens in my life: Phones, Tv's, monitors laptops Macbook m4 pro 16 screen gives me the most eye strain. Crazy
so many dumb youtubers, the max is not built for the tests u did its mainly for ai and severe editing and computing

Just bought mines today for $1799!!! Macbook pro m4 pro that is. Its my first laptop ever! And i already have ipad pro and iphone max so i just completed the mini circle! Its amazing and i have no use for it until school starts and its not even for photography or anything of the sort 😂! I just know i will eventually get into video editing as i have tons of photos i want to go through and make clips and shorts out of.
