why buy such and expensive mac mini or studio? you still cant play mainstream video games video game support for apple has been obsolete near non existent you apple wants you to trade your mainstream video games for apple approved games which are horrible but not just horrible also have very poor performance on the mac laggy and choppy making the gaming experience horrible for the price of this expensive macs you can get their counter parts with better specs such as minisforum etc.
I think the Mac mini M6 is very expensive and not worth it. Even Apple agrees, which is why they're not going to develop it further and are instead focusing on the M7. If you already have a Mac mini Mx, upgrading isn't advisable.

I’m working on a MacBook Air M5 16gb and I can tell you that the M10 will be the chip to live up to the promise. I’m thoroughly disappointed as to how slow the M5 MacBook Air is in rendering and exporting projects on premiere pro. 🤦🏾♂️
I have M1 ultra for video processing and chatGPT said it is not worth to upgrade to M5 ultra! The M5 ultra is for local AI and my customers hate anything with AI

New Mac Studio is an absolute monster.
It’s sad the Mac mini is $899 now. That being the case when we are in the market for a computer or desktop it will likely be a Mac mini because of how small it is. If we are in the position to get an IMAC that’s probably what we will get. We have about 3 years until kindergarten and another 5-6 for baby number two. At that point we will probably get a computer versus just using an iPad right now.

I love my M4 Pro Mac Mini with 24GB of RAM, so I'm glad they are updating it and it's not going away for at least another few years. It handles everything I have thrown at it.
I might invest in the Mac Studio for my new Gaming News studio set since Ill be running a video wall, Guest monitor, and the desk also have a couple of monitors for visuals to change the studio theme. I NEED that 8 monitor support haha!

I was planning to buy the m5 mac studio ultra a year ago but with the delay, big price increases, and news about the m7 ultra coming in 2028 potentially when ram prices start to ease, I decided to pick up an m6 mac mini 32gb ram instead. I plan to use it to experiment with local AI, try out some of the agentic harnesses, even play around with training and fine tuning, but otherwise use the subscription frontier models for my main development and workflows.
Time for a Mac Neo or Nano.
