tbh i upgrade my iphone every 34 yes and always get the cheapest one ,i went from a 2022 se to my 17e which is why i love the phone….its fast enough for me..and it never feels slow..

14:41 lol I wear my 1st gen Ultra to bed every other night like it’s nothing. Then again every watch I wore prior to owning it was one of those bulky ass Casio watches from Walmart. Even the weight doesn’t bother me. My only issue is that the Alpine loop band I got for it is… bipolar when it comes to how tight or loose it wants to be. I need something that’s more of a “set it and forget it” deal. That and the glue failed causing the buckle thing to come loose. I fixed it by heating up the glue while simultaneously pressing the two ends back together using the knife on my multi tool heated with a Bic lighter. To be fair I’ve had it for over a year and I got it refurbished so I won’t really hold that against it
Although it was still expensive, my favourite upgrade of the last few years has been an M5 iPad Pro 13 with the nano texture glass. Oh man it's such a delight to use. And getting 30% off the current retail price felt amazing.
I've got Air Pod Pro 2 and Airpod 4 (no ANC) and I prefer the airpods 4. I find it easier to quickly put them in and out without worrying about cleaning a little wax off from time to time. They just fit easily without snugging them in. They should good enough to me.
Your 17e unit sounds defective. Mine does none of those things.
I upgraded from a 14 (base model) to a 17e and it's been a slight improvement, except in bright light. I have the cheapest iPad that I leave at work for notes (so I don't have to carry one more thing back and forth) and it's nicer than the OG iPad pro it replaced, though not a LOT nicer. I think it comes down to what you're replacing when you buy one of these.
The Neo is absolutely amazing. I also use the base iPad, and it’s very very good. Base Apple Watch is all you need. But the Pro phones are better and worth it.

The ipad mini is a great deal if you can come to terms with the smaller screen, and it has 12 GB OF RAM IN A $600 DEVICE. dont tell apple

I got the Macbook Neo on release for $375 after a student discount and a $125 older macbook air trade-in (the one with the awful butterfly keys). I told myself I'd buy a mac mini if the Neo was struggling on more demanding tasks, but I haven't had any need to!
completely agreed on used/preowned, i bought a preowned iphone 16 pro because i just want something that's quality, will last a long time, and i don't care about paying 300 more dollars for the newer version. in my opinion buying used of a higher tier model of product is always going to feel better than the cheaper model, if something's going to last twice as long and feel better using it i'd rather use that than buy something cheaper twice over

Surprised by the iPad review. My wife has a recent iPad Pro and I have the A16. Hers is a bit faster, sure. But I can’t type any faster on the A16. I can’t watch YT or Netflix any faster in the A16. FaceTime on her iPad doesn’t work any faster than mine. I can’t read email any faster in my iPad than in hers. Her screen doesn’t feel hugely better than mine. The only advantage the Pro has is the screen, in my opinion, and I have to look very carefully to see any differences.
5:37 sounds like apple is using a higher compression ratio for the algorithm that has to decompress and that usually requires higher computation and that chip doesn't have enough compute power to decompress compared to M series chips. It seems as if apple is preparing to use less memory in other devices and knows compute can help solve that.

I switched from AirPods 3 with the wireless charging case to the base model AirPods 4 after one of my 3s just randomly died for no reason. I did not, however, know that Apple removed wireless charging from the base model 4s until AFTER I bought them. Like… it’s not that big of a deal. I am a self-proclaimed Apple Pro Model User™ with an iPhone 17 Pro, 2024 MacBook Pro at work, 2021 MacBook Pro at home, iPad Pro, etc. But I simply do not care enough about AirPods to spend that much on them. I also used my friend’s AirPods Pro once and the noise cancellation/spatial audio situation made me feel so disoriented and nauseous, so I was perfectly happy with the base model. BUT I MISS WIRELESS CHARGING SO MUCH. 😭 All I had to do was plop the AirPods on my charging pad at night after doomscrolling and they would just… charge. Now I have to remember to occasionally plug them in like some kind of peasant. RUDE. (Yes I am aware there are people dying.)

Wow, I must be some kind of barbarian… My take: the 16e I have is… fine… it’s my work issued phone. Never had any heat issues and those dropped frames? Really? Those are a dealbreaker? I would rather call out that the screen scratches so easily.
The verdict on the iPad base model I consider REALLY unfair. I would honestly ask you to spend some serious time with a low-to-midrange Android tablet and then come back again… That tablet is really fine… not great. Fine. And far better than ANYTHING Amazon puts out. And most other Android brands. Yes, on paper they might have better specs, but the experience of Android on tablet… sheesh…

My favorite apple device I own is my Series 3 (from 2017) that I got for $35. For the price of a Casio, I basically have a mini phone on my wrist.

I don't know why ur 17e opinion was so negative? It's such a fire phone it does everything well, is beyond fast for the average person, and sure it gets warm… during gaming. And the outside thing can easily be remedied with a matte screen protector.
For most people the 17e is great and will last.

I don’t understand everyone saying 16gb of ram is necessary sure it would be nice but with my 8gb m3 air i can have 30+ tabs of chrome open run 2 monitors and do server management and even run a video game like minecraft if i wanted to all at once with no hiccups
my only least favourite products is my airpods (3rd gen) 'cz they will never not come out of my tiny ears with slightest of head movement.. very annoying (should have got the pro ☹ )
I still use an iPhone SE. I use my phone as a communication device and I carry a real camera with me anyway so unless the next iPhone comes out with an APSC, M43, or bare minimum 1” sensor and interchangeable lenses or at least a 26-120mm F2.8 (35mm equivalent) fixed lens, then the iPhone camera will never mean anything to me.
We have wildly different usage, which I find so interesting! 🙂
I also love the Neo. Use it for work, notion, Langdock, shopping, you name it!
For my phone I‘m still on my 13 mini and don’t feel like upgrading (only the battery is getting a bit weak lately). I just don’t enjoy doing things on my phone in general and larger phones feel bad in my hands. I often drop them accidentally. So sad, there are no more mini in the foreseeable future.
For watching youtube and such, I carry around my ipad mini around the house every day . Again, I would not want a bigger one, because it feels clunky to me.
Got the normal iPad for my gf daughter at 333€ before the price increase. For her it’s enough and still better than other cheap tablets. Spending double on the air was just not justified.
4:00 if we designed websites, apps, productivity software, and even some games to actually use memory well, the average normie computer user would not need more than 8 GB of RAM
