2 : 59 what about the base model ?
Just a heads up: disabling Apple Intelligence on all many of my devices resulted in much better battery life and thermals. Wonder all of this were just a trojan horse for planned obsolescence. Saw this positive change on my iPhone 16 Pro, MacBook Pro 16-inch M4 Pro, and iPad Pro 13-inch M5. Surprisingly enough, my Apple Watch Series 8 now lasts longer – don't know how it related but somehow, it did.
Now, use cases depend and vary. But for me, on-device AI didn't help much – provided that I already pay for Adobe for photo retouching (Lightroom) and Generative AI (Photoshop), Claude Pro for Cowork & Code, Google Gemini Pro and ChatGPT Go for general writing tasks; which all made Apple Intelligence redundant anyway 🤷🏽♂️

So, still sht iPadOS on an iPad Pro that can totally be MacOs. Why buy so much power and being totally limited by a company that wants you to buy 2 products instead of 1 and claim they are interested about waste, all about that green environment, thats why they no longer include chargers in a box. No thanks.
Your title was misleading… You didn’t cover anything regarding some of the Base Spec iPads, which are IN FACT getting iPadOS 27, and they do not have M1 Chips… Thank you for wasting my time… 🙂

So in short nothing new for basic users, apple ai is gemini, so can be basically used on any device, on device ai is useless, gonna be used by people for 2-3 days and then they forget lol. This update is lame lol.
You said eu users will be locked out does that include uk or not?
I have the iPad Air m4 with 12GB and I do have iPadOS 27 running on it and the settings are on it there
Have no desire for Apple AI. Can we opt out of it?

Wait what about the base level 10th gen IPad ? Does it get the Siri AI features and the photo editing features ?
The iPad Pro 4th generation cannot be updated to the iPadOS 27 It is a much older device whose maximum software is limited 😢😢
2:40 pitch and expressivity are not available in this first beta, you can see they are greyed out and do not work.
I live in the EU and on my iPhone and iPad I have chatGPT installed and works with SIRI. SIRI can acces ChatGPT and use it and that's enough integration for me.
I think what apple has got soooo right with this update is now using Siri as a central hub to bring all the great capabilities the OS already had, most of the cool features power users were doing manually – I’m a geek for saving time day to day on mundane task = super hyped!

Isn’t it ironic that the new SIRI Logo is a glass marble as recently customers have been losing their marbles over Apples inability to enter the 21 st century!

It's not about new features you'll barely use. It's about reducing annoying friction and hassles that plagued you for years. I am so excited about iPadOS 27 and all the other OS-27 releases. A breath of liberating fresh air.
