When Apple acquired the Shortcuts app (then called “Workflow”) a few years ago, it wasn’t clear how popular the automation tool would be with users. The modular application is now part of the standard tool on every iPhone. The iOS app already comes with many pre-programmed shortcuts that can be installed via the “Gallery”. However, there are also special websites that are dedicated to collecting useful shortcuts and offer shortcuts from a wide variety of categories for free download. Below we show you the top sources for handy iPhone shortcuts.

To be able to use the shortcuts, at least iOS 12 must be installed on your iPhone. So you need an iPhone 5s or newer. The associated shortcuts app should already be present on your iPhone by default. If you don’t find it right away, simply swipe down from the top of the screen to open the search function and type the letter “K” in the text field at the top. The shortcuts app should then be suggested to you. Otherwise, you should have some knowledge of the English language, since the collections of shortcuts presented here are only written in English.
Shortcut Library
The first shortcuts catalog we want to introduce you to is the “Shortcurs Library” by former Apple developer Matthew Cassinelli. He was already involved in the creation of the workflow app and now offers over 600 shortcuts on his own website, many of which can also be downloaded free of charge. A distinction is made here between the “Free Shortcuts” that are available free of charge and the “Membership Shortcuts” that are subject to a fee ($15 per quarter or $50 per year).

Anyone who is not necessarily looking for the more complex and exclusive “Membership Shortcuts” should also be able to find one or the other useful shortcut in the freely accessible selection. To do this, simply scroll down on the start page to the “Free Shortcuts” heading and tap on “View all the Free Shortcuts” to get the complete overview of all the free shortcuts. Due to their simplicity, these are ideal for beginners and are also absolutely useful in everyday life.
With a tap on the “Show” button and “Add to Shortcuts” you can download the respective shortcut, which you can then find in the Shortcuts app under “My Shortcuts”.

The online portal “Routinehub” is also an excellent source for free iPhone shortcuts from a wide variety of areas. Here you can choose from a total of 28 categories and get the right shortcuts for your iPhone. Routinehub sees itself as a community and the shortcuts come from the pen of the many users of the website. Optionally, you can support the site operator with a membership (10 € per year) and receive one or the other extra, such as B. the possibility to use the website without advertising. However, this is not necessary to access the shortcuts.

Simply open the page on your iPhone using the link provided and go to “See all new shortcuts” below. On the next page, you can use the “Sort” drop-down menu to sort the list by most popular, newest, oldest, and most recently updated shortcuts. Alternatively, you can use the “Browse by category” menu to select a specific category to only show shortcuts related to a specific topic. With a tap on the respective shortcut and “Get Shortcut” you get directly to the corresponding download page.
After tapping on “Add shortcut” you will find the shortcut again in the Shortcuts app under “My Shortcuts”.
ShortcutsGallery
The “ShortcutsGallery” page also sees itself as a collection point for user-generated shortcuts. All shortcuts available on the website can be downloaded free of charge, registration is not necessary.

At the top of the home page you will find the menus “Popular Categories” with the most popular topics and “All Categories” with all available categories, which cover the most diverse areas. Select any category and scroll through the selection.
Tapping a shortcut tile and “Get Shortcut” takes you to the download page. There you can download the shortcut as usual with a tap on “Add shortcut” and then start the shortcuts app under “My shortcuts”.
