The foldable iPhone comes with a foldable OLED display developed by Apple’s supplier Samsung Display, and is expected to prevent the folding of any unfolded creases.
The new folding smartphone, which is rumored to have repurposed some of the technology gained during the development process, has confirmed that the creases are rather inconspicuous.
Expectations are high for the release of a foldable iPhone.
Foldable iPhone technology is rumoured to launch first on Galaxy Z Fold7
Some of the folding OLED display technology developed for folding iPhones with no creases appears to have been repurposed to be used for displays for the Galaxy Z Fold7.
A video of the recent comparison of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Fold6 confirmed that the creases are indeed less noticeable.
Apple’s proprietary patented technology is introduced for foldable iPhone displays
The patent infers that on folding iPhones, a polymer layer is provided under the center of the folding display, and when unfolded, the crease disappears when the polymer acts to push the fold up from below.
If this technology for folding displays, excluding the patented polymer layer, is included in the Galaxy Z Fold7, it seems unlikely that folding iPhone displays have no creases.
Foldable iPhones start from 350,000 yen, so they are planning to buy one
There are rumors that the selling price of a folding iPhone will be from 350,000 yen, but since I currently carry two iPhone 16 Pros and two iPad Pros, I am planning to purchase them with the hope that one of them and one iPad will be combined into one folding iPhone.
Check the display with a very inconspicuous crease on the Galaxy Z Fold7
Here is an excerpt from the video that clearly shows the difference in creases between the Galaxy Z Fold7 and the Galaxy Z Fold6.
The dent in the center of the display is clearly noticeable on the Galaxy Z Fold6, but the Galaxy Z Fold7 is rather unnoticeable.
When comparing the creases in a less noticeable situation, the creases on the Galaxy Z Fold7 are almost invisible, while the creases on the Galaxy Z Fold6 are clearly visible.
