IT Home reported on May 2 that technology media 9to5Mac released a blog post yesterday (May 1), reporting that an application called StikDebug was recently launched on the European AltStore and was approved on the American App Store, which is expected to simulate GameCube and Wii games on iPhone and iPad devices.

Apple adjusted its App Store strategy last year, relaxed the requirements for game simulators, and supported the launch of related applications. However, GameCube and Wii emulators have never been popularized on iOS devices.

The DolphiniOS team has made it clear that due to Apple’s restrictions on instant compilation (JIT) technology, these games are almost impossible to run on iOS. IT Home Note: JIT technology is the key to the smooth operation of the simulator, and Apple’s restrictions leave developers helpless.

However, the latest StikDebug application has broken through the limitations and supports the local JIT compilation function of the device. Users can run DolphiniOS in the EU and experience GameCube and Wii games without sideloading or connecting to a PC/Mac.

The app has been approved to be available on the US App Store App Store (Preview), and can also simulate Nintendo Switch games through meloNX. At present, the actual effect of the application has not been fully tested. IT Home checked the social platform and some users reported that although the operation is not stable, it can run Switch games.
