We will review our impressions of attaching the vegan leather “MOVAS Leather Case” (Jet Black) released by MOFT to the black titanium model of the iPhone 16 Pro. We will compare the texture with the leather case for the iPhone 14 Pro, which was Apple’s last leather case.
Case made from our proprietary vegan leather “MOVAS”
The “MOVAS Leather Case” for the iPhone 16 series released by MOFT is a case that uses “MOVAS”, a vegan leather material developed exclusively by MOFT.
MOVAS is an abbreviation for “MOFT Visionary Atelier’s Standard” and was developed with the aim of achieving the best balance between environmental impact, corporate responsibility, sustainability, and practical aesthetics.
In addition to the jet black introduced in this article, the phone is available in six colors: misty gray, taupe, stone gray, and desert gold (stone gray and desert gold are only available for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max).

I attached the jet black MOVAS Leather Case to my iPhone 16 Pro (black titanium).
The back of the MOVAS Leather Case packaging lists its product features, including a camera protection ring, an unobtrusive magnetic ring, timeless colors, and protection from 3-foot drops. It also has a two-dimensional barcode sticker that links to a website where you can verify the authenticity of the product.
The surface has fine grain and feels soft like real leather.
The inside of the case is made of soft brushed material and has a circular design where the MagSafe magnet is embedded.
To attach the iPhone, press down on all four corners in order, starting with the corner with the rear camera.
The ring surrounds the larger rear camera on the iPhone 16 Pro, providing solid protection. The height of the frame is slightly larger than MOFT’s “MagSafe Clear Case”.
The screen perimeter protrusion is slightly higher than when a glass film is attached. The height of the screen perimeter is also slightly higher than that of the “MagSafe Clear Case”.
The action button on the side and the volume buttons have metal buttons on their surfaces, which give a satisfying click when pressed.
The side buttons are covered, and the camera controls are wide open, making them easy to understand and operate smoothly.
There are holes on the bottom for the USB-C port and the speaker. The USB-C port is quite large, so even a thicker connector cable can be easily inserted and removed.
MagSafe charging and accessory connection
It supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, including the fast MagSafe charging of up to 25 watts that is supported on the iPhone 16 series.

A new option for leather case lovers
Apple stopped selling leather cases in 2023 when the iPhone 15 series was released, in order to reduce environmental impact, and they have not been revived for the iPhone 16 series.
I have a leather case for the iPhone 14 Pro, which was the last leather case sold by Apple, so I compared it with MOVAS.
After about two years of use, scratches are noticeable on the surface of the leather case for the iPhone 14 Pro (right). Even after two years, the leather still has the same soft, comfortable feel.
The “MOVAS Leather Case” also has a soft feel and calm texture created by the fine grain, which I feel is not inferior to real leather.
I thought that a case using MOVAS would be a good new option for those who have been using leather cases until now.
