A few minutes ago, the first generation of Apple’s virtual reality glasses, Apple Vision Pro, went on sale in the United States. Over the past few months, we have been able to see progress in the following areas: Vision, glasses software and developers have been able to prepare their applications for the upcoming Vision Pro. Apple announced that as of today’s launch, more than 600 apps are compatible with VisionOS. That’s a relatively large number considering the geographic limitations of the glasses, although it’s clear that number isn’t going to stop growing.
Apple Vision Pro debuts with over 600 VisionOS-compatible apps
The advantage of Apple Vision Pro with visionOS is that the creative limits are what developers can imagine. Manzanar defines this new experience as being like an infinite canvas in which developers can create and users can immerse themselves. More 600 apps have been created specifically to take full advantage of the glasses. There are over 10,000 apps on the App Store, considering that they are not specifically designed for visionOS, but are compatible.

Apple would like to briefly review the main experiences we can enjoy in Vision Pro. If you like sports, you can experience the Vision Pro game. NBA from different cameras with statistics; we can also see racing maps in 3D with Red Bull TV; football with MLS season tickets; or cable TV apps: Charter Spectrum, Comcast Xfinity, Cox Contour, Sling TV and Verizon Fios, as well as the well-known ESPN, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, NBC Sports, Peacock, FOX Sports and UFC.
Apple has also given a wink to the entertainment world, announcing that Discovery Max, Disney+ and Max (the new HBO app) will allow enjoying entertainment content with all the benefits of Apple Vision Pro. Keep in mind that Netflix has not considered creating a specific app for visionOS, we believe this will change in the coming months. Besides, Apple TV is the icing on the cake with over 200 3D movies encoded with Apple Immersive Video.
Apps for everyone: entertainment, productivity, games…
Finally, a chapter is dedicated to productivity apps. The entire Microsoft 365 package, Fantastical, Numerics, OmniFocus, OmniPlan, and more will be available. It should be noted that Keynote, Numbers and Pages do not have official versions yet, something that causes a lot of concern.
There are countless apps available in the App Store in various categories: Games, Geography, Entertainment, and more. Vision Pro users themselves will have to browse the myriad of apps and decide which are their best options to get the most out of the new Apple glasses.
