The number of users of services such as iCloud, AppleCare, and Apple Music provided by Apple surpassed 900 million people worldwide as of October last year and continues to grow every year, but the penetration rate is not so high CIRP revealed in the survey. A report published by the CIRP titled “Apple Services – Not as Dominant as Apple Hardware” found that the number of paying iCloud users was only 60% of the total, while AppleCare accounted for only 4% of the total. There is interesting data that only uses it.

AppleCare is the Apple service with the lowest penetration rate

The most successful Apple service is paid iCloud storage, which has been described as “relatively immune to competing services” because it’s integrated into the use of iPhones, iPads and Macs.

AppleCare, which provides warranty and technical support for purchased Apple products, has the lowest penetration rate, with only 4% of iPhone users and 7% of iPad users using it. For this reason, CIRP explains, “There are countless competitors in the extended warranty market, and mobile phone companies can sell iPhones with services.”

Apple Music is used by about 30% of the total

Data also shows that Apple Music is used by about one-third of Apple customers. In order to achieve further growth in the future, it is necessary to persuade customers to switch from existing services.

Apple TV+ has a penetration rate of 28%, slightly behind Apple Music. Substantial competition is also a problem here, but it seems that consumers tend to have more opportunities to pay for multiple services because each service has its own program.

Apple News registrants are about one-fifth of the total.
