Apple has announced that the official versions of iOS27, iPadOS27, watchOS27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and visionOS27 will be released on Tuesday, September 15th, Japan time. iOS27 not only improves operating speed, but also improves the consistency of Liquid Glass design between each OS.
Official version released on Tuesday, September 15th, including iOS27
Along with the announcement of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the first foldable model iPhone Duo, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, Apple announced the release date of the official version of its next-generation OS.
iOS27, iPadOS27, watchOS27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and visionOS27 will all be released to general users on Tuesday, September 15th, Japan time.
Judging from the previous release pattern, it is thought that it will be available as a software update from around 2:00 am on Tuesday, September 15th.
The iPhone18 Pro, iPhone18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, and Apple Watch Ultra 4, which will be released on Friday, September 18th, will each be shipped with the latest OS preinstalled.
Next-generation OS powered by Apple Intelligence
iOS27, iPadOS27, watchOS27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and visionOS27 were announced at the World Developers Conference (WWDC26) in June 2026, and have been repeatedly tested in beta versions for developers.
In addition to being able to use Apple Intelligence’s advanced AI functions on compatible models of each OS, Liquid Glass also features a more unified design.
Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence, will start supporting English. We plan to support Japanese language by the end of 2026.
iOS27 has improved operating speed and works comfortably even with older models
iOS27 is said to improve system operating speed, speeding up app startup speed, loading photo apps into the library, and speeding up operations such as AirDrop.
Even older iPhone models run faster, so even users of non-latest models can experience the benefits.

Please note that non-compatible models cannot be updated to the latest version, but it is possible to continue using the previous version. Apple has been providing important security updates to older versions of the OS for some time.
