Apple’s announcement event has ended. iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s first foldable iPhone “iPhone Duo” have been announced.
Therefore, we started a reader survey on the iM community immediately after the announcement. Which model to buy, which color to choose, and what capacity to choose? We collect real voices from people who are actually trying to reach out.
What was announced
- iPhone 18 Pro: 219,800 yen ~ (256GB) / 4 colors: black, silver, glacier, and burgundy
- iPhone 18 Pro Max: 239,800 yen ~ (256GB) / Same 4 colors
- iPhone Duo: 364,800 yen ~ (256GB) / 2 colors: Night Sky and Star White
Reservation start dates vary depending on the model. iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max will be available from Saturday, September 12th, and iPhone Duo will be available from Friday, October 16th.
Regarding the name of the foldable iPhone, in a survey conducted before the announcement, the most popular name was “Ultra” at 44%, but it was actually “Duo”. This means that 30% of those who answered “I think it would be a different name” answered correctly.

It will be delivered before Saturday, September 12th, when pre-orders for iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max begin. I hope this will be helpful for those who want to know which models are popular and which colors are getting the most votes before making a reservation.
Sort it out with the pre-announcement questionnaire
Before the announcement, many people responded to the question “How much can you sell for a foldable iPhone?” We have included the same question in this survey.
The iPhone Duo costs 364,800 yen for 256GB, and the top-end 2TB costs 574,800 yen. How does “the upper limit we thought before the announcement” change from “the decision we make after seeing the actual price”? I will report on the two side by side.
Last year, we conducted the same survey immediately after the announcement and received 1,159 responses. The content includes popular colors and reasons for purchasing each model. Please give us your vote again this year.
