IT House reported on September 9 that Apple will soon enter the folding mobile phone track. There are only a few hours left before Apple’s autumn new product launch. Samsung has released a new video, extending an invitation to everyone to embrace folding devices. The audience is not limited to Samsung’s own fans.
Of course, this video ultimately promotes Samsung’s 2026 foldable phone product line. Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra were released in July this year and launched in August. These three models are the main products that will compete with Apple’s foldable screen phone iPhone Duo this year.
If the rumors are true and Apple’s iPhone Duo uses a wide-aspect ratio screen, its direct competitor will be the Galaxy Z Fold8.
Samsung has been deeply involved in the folding screen mobile phone market for many years, and its first folding mobile phone has been on sale in 2019; before that, Samsung Display also spent several years developing folding screen technology.
Samsung’s video titled “Welcome to the Folding Era” is quite meaningful, at least judging from the title.
However, Apple has not revealed too much about its plans so far, and everything is still subject to change before the press conference ends. But if the first foldable iPhone is indeed unveiled as promised, multiple sources predict that the phone will start at US$2,000 (IT House note: the current exchange rate is approximately 13,457 yuan), which is US$100 more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (the current exchange rate is approximately 672.8 yuan).
There are also rumors that the iPhone Duo will support the stylus function. The Samsung Fold series once supported the S Pen stylus, but this feature has been canceled since Fold7 to achieve an even thinner and lighter body. It would be interesting if Apple now picks up this feature again.
