However, case manufacturers are not always informed of the product name by Apple in advance, and at this point we cannot say that this information supports the official name.
Case maker lists iPhone Duo
The topic of discussion this time is the product page for a folding iPhone case that CASETiFY is said to have temporarily published.
The page clearly states “iPhone Duo Case,” and includes explanations that appear to be for folding devices, such as a MagSafe-compatible clear case and hinge protection.
This page has since been deleted. It is possible that the official name was posted by mistake, but it is also possible that Duo was used as a tentative name before release.
Is the external size information and official name different?
Apple is thought to be sharing information such as external dimensions and button positions in advance as design guidelines with accessory makers after signing non-disclosure agreements so that they can prepare cases and other items when the new iPhone is released.
In fact, dummy models and cases that appear before a device is announced may fairly accurately reflect the device’s size, camera bump, button placement, etc.
On the other hand, the body color and official product name are not always disclosed at the same time, and there may be speculation on the part of the accessory manufacturer.
