Spigen, which sells many high-quality smartphone accessories, posted an image of a portion of a clear case thought to be for foldable iPhones on X (formerly Twitter).
Regarding the foldable iPhone, new predictions regarding the body color and official model name have also been released, supplementing the information that has been reported so far.
Spigen announces clear case?
The image posted by Spigen shows a product that appears to be a clear case that is attached to a folded smartphone, and you can also see a spring-like part on the hinge that suggests it is a folding smartphone.
If you look at this image alone, it could be considered to be for the Galaxy Z Fold series, but there is a partially bitten apple on top of the case, which suggests a connection with Apple products.
Additionally, the post is accompanied by the message “hello.” This message is thought to be a deliberate attempt to incorporate the first message posted on X by John Ternas, the new CEO.

Spigen also covers the camera button
Spigen’s case for the iPhone 16 series did not have a cutout for the camera control part, but instead adopted a full-coverage structure that covers the button part from an early stage.
The current Ultra Hybrid for the iPhone 17 series also has a lineup of products that cover the camera control, and it is expected that this structure will be adopted for the folding iPhone as well.
If the prediction that the folding iPhone will also be equipped with a camera control is correct, it will be interesting to see whether it will have a structure that covers the buttons instead of a cutout.
If a full-coverage structure can be achieved, it has the advantage of expanding the area that can protect the sides compared to a case with a large opening around the camera control.
Is the main body color white or indigo?
Initially, it was predicted that the folding iPhone would come in two colors: white and black, but recently there has been more information that it will be dark blue instead of black.
A leaker has also posted an image of a dark blue camera protection part, reinforcing the idea that a dark blue color will be adopted.
According to the latest information from Macworld, there will be two main body colors: white and indigo, and black and space gray will not be available.
Indigo is expected to be a dark blue similar to the deep blue of the iPhone 17 Pro series, and is likely to be a calming color to replace black.
iPhone Duo theory suddenly emerges
As for the model name of the foldable iPhone, there are speculations that it will be called “iPhone Duo”.
However, at this time there is no concrete information to support Apple’s decision to adopt the name iPhone Duo, and it is currently being considered as one of the candidates.
Apple has used the “Duo” name on the PowerBook Duo and MagSafe Duo Charger in the past, and it’s an appropriate name for a product with two displays.
On the other hand, since Microsoft also used the name Surface Duo, there remains a question as to whether Apple will dare to adopt the same “Duo” name.
Model name rumored so far
The following candidates have been considered for the name of the folding iPhone:

- iPhone Ultra

Among these, the “iPhone Ultra” is considered the most likely, and there is information that even within Apple, foldable iPhones are often called “Ultra”.
However, the names used within Apple may not always be adopted as official product names.
Could it be iPhone Studio?
While it is rumored that the foldable iPhone will have a dual-lens camera and not a telephoto camera, the selling price is expected to be significantly higher than the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Some people question whether the name “Ultra” is appropriate for the product’s positioning, as it is difficult to say that it is a higher version of the Pro series if you look only at camera performance.
If you think that Apple will reuse top brands used in existing products, you can also consider the possibility of adopting “Studio” and calling it iPhone Studio.
However, there is no specific leaked information to support the name iPhone Studio, and at this point it is just one idea when considering the name.
There is a possibility that a new name that has not been used for iPhone so far, like MacBook Neo, will be adopted, and the official name is likely to be a big focus until just before the announcement.
