US media MacRumors reported that Apple is expected to release a total of eight new products in September 2026. Shipping of the new Mac mini and Mac Studio announced last week will begin on September 22nd, and the iPhone 18 Pro series and foldable iPhone are expected to be announced at the event on September 9th local time (10th Japan time).
If things go as usual, there is a high possibility that the new iPhone will be released in September, and it seems like this will be a milestone month for Japanese users as well, as they plan their next purchase.
Eight new products are expected to be released in September.
The eight products MacRumors has listed that are expected to be released by the end of September are:
- Mac mini (M6/M5 Pro): announced, shipping September 22nd, starting at $899
- Mac Studio (M5 Max/M5 Ultra): announced, shipping September 22nd, starting at $2,499
- iPhone 18 Pro
- iPhone 18 Pro Max
- Foldable iPhone (some say the name is “iPhone Ultra”)
- Apple Watch Series 12
- Apple Watch Ultra 4
- AirPods 5
Mac mini and Mac Studio have already been announced and will begin shipping on Tuesday, September 22nd. However, only Mac Studio with 512GB of memory capacity is expected to ship in late October. Please check Apple’s information for the sales price in Japanese yen.
The standard models iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 will not be released in September this year, but are expected to be released in spring 2027. The Apple Watch SE also reportedly won’t be updated this year.
Foldable iPhone is expected to have no significant delays
The catchphrase for this event is “Surprise and shine.” The main iPhone 18 Pro is expected to have a smaller Dynamic Island and be equipped with the A20 Pro chip. It is rumored that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be equipped with an enhanced camera that is exclusive to the large screen model and a larger capacity battery.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is said to have a 5.5-inch display when closed and 7.8 inches when opened, and a thin design with less noticeable creases.
There were speculations that the release would be delayed significantly after October, but Bloomberg reporter Mark Garman denied that there was a significant delay, saying, “I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t come out at the same time as the Pro version, or very close to it.” There are multiple predictions regarding the release date, and we will provide details on the release date and initial stock of iPhone Ultra in a separate article.
Will the two Watch models and AirPods 5 be released at the same time?
Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to have enhanced fitness features and a faster S12 chip, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is also expected to use the same S12 chip. AirPods 5 has been mentioned in macOS 26.7 and is reportedly already ready for release.
It has become a norm in recent years for new AirPods to be released at the same time as the iPhone. iPhone Mania reported in September 2025 that AirPods Pro 3 would be equipped with a heart rate sensor, but later AirPods Pro 3, which was actually equipped with a heart rate sensor, was announced and released on September 19, the same day as the iPhone 17 series.
If this trend holds true, it is likely that AirPods 5 will be released at the same time as the new iPhone.
What is expected to be released in September is the standard model “AirPods 5” that does not come with Pro. The latest in the top AirPods Pro series is Pro 3, released in September 2025, and AirPods Pro 4, which is equipped with a camera, is rumored to be even further in the future.
