Calling it a “3K” screen has caused some controversy, but I still don’t think it’s a good choice to describe 2712×1220 as “1.5K” – the most common meaning of K is “thousand”, such as Kg (kilogram), KJ (kilojoule), kW (kilowatt).
The most intuitive meaning of 1.5K is 1500, but whether it is “2712” or “1220”, it is not a small gap from 1500.
Today, the specifications of mobile phones, computers, and monitors are becoming more and more abundant. Some friends may say that the 3840×1440 ultra-wide “fish screen” can also be called a 4K screen. In the same sentence, “a few K” is inherently imprecise. If you want to clarify the resolution of 3840×2160, you can use a more targeted name such as UHD 4K.
