Now that we have a second Tesla in our household, I knew that I had to go with the tried and true setup for Sentry Mode and Dashcam that I’ve been using in my Model 3….the Pro Endurance Micro SD card with Rocketek adapter! I’ve never had an issue with this setup over the past few years in my Model 3; it just works! I’ll show you in this video how to install it in a Tesla Model X.

yeah I bought the same stuff a year ago. Recently someone opened their door and totally scratched the heck out of my wrap. when I went to see the recording, the disk was unreadable and no recording was available. Thanks for nothing!

Why doesn't the model X have the ability to use live view?
you need to create the file TeslaCam otherwise nothing will be saved

I have a 2017 mx and tried this but when I plug in my usb drive it’s not recognised and doesn’t offer to format
that’s nice but my problem is i can’t view it, the only option is to delete dash cam clips but no button to “view dash can clips”

Is 128gb sufficient capacity when you use sentry?
'17 X on MCU1 so I can't watch sentury notifications videos via the screen. I do have a USB thumb drive to USB C adapter that allows me to see the drive using my phones…but there's a million folders so how or what tells me which video I need to watch specifically vs all the videos showing nothing other than everyone in the world just doing their thing.
My model X is March 2017 and on the safety menu- dash am does not appear. I have the sentry details but no dashcam options. Is there a certain model year that is not supported??
You can also use USB drive instate of memory card and adopter. I like the simplicity method you explain things.
Can you view the recordings in model x or you have to use a laptop to view them, I couldn't find any help online for 2017 model x.
Then, how do you review the videos in the Model X ? I have a 2017 Model X P100D with Ludicrous mode ( just got it 3 weeks ago). Since then, I have been trying to find out how to review the videos in the car. No success so far. I have the Sentry Mode enabled on my 2017 Model X P100DL. BTW, does your Model X come with the upgraded infotainment system? We may have to upgrade to the newer infotainment system in order to review security videos on the Model X. Without the upgraded infotainment system, we may have to unplug the drive and review it by plugging it into our computers or laptops.

Just curious, why are you not using the drive Tesla provided?
I surprised you would recommend the Rocketek USB SD Card Adapter. I bought this based on your recommendation and returned it after one day. This adapter gets so hot after about 3 minutes of use that burn your fingers if you touch it.
