In this video, we are going to learn how to use Frida dynamic instrumentation framework to bypass root detection checks which are present on the Java layer of an android app.
For this video we have used level2 android app from MSTG crackmes. Also as a side note if you are new to mobile app penetration testing and want to get started then MSTG (Mobile security testing guidelines) also known as MAS (Mobile application security) is the first thing I would recommend starting with.
You can download the application directly from here:
https://github.com/OWASP/owasp-mastg/tree/master/Crackmes/Android/Level_02
The script which we have used to bypass root detection in this video is available here:

Very nicely explained. Even a noob like me could understand this very easily! Kudos.
I love the teaching style! I have already subscribed to your channel. What if the app blocked Frida? Is that possible to bypass?
Thankyou very much, this help me so much to learn how to write frida script 🙌
I was wondering if you would consider making a follow-up video on how you setup your android pentestlab to perform actual penetration tests. I'm really interested in learning more about the specific tools and techniques you use, as well as your overall methodology.

Also there are times when the obfuscation is used to scramble the names of classes.
One important thing I have noticed is that for most apps after decompiling the apk there is no lib folder.
