HUAWEI today officially released the new generation of slim folding screen mobile phone HUAWEI Pocket 2 in China. Pocket 2 is the first foldable screen phone to support two-way Beidou satellite communications, and it also has strong specifications such as 2-meter IPX8 water resistance.
HUAWEI Pocket 2 will be available in two versions: standard version and artistic customized version. Among them, the art customized version adopts the industry’s first 3D dynamic space technology for the entire body cover. It goes through 87 complicated production processes on a diaphragm with a thickness of only 0.14mm to achieve a 3D stereoscopic optical illusion effect. As for the standard version, there are four colors, namely rococo white, Tahitian gray, taro purple and elegant black.
In addition, HUAWEI Pocket 2 uses a new “Xuanwu Waterdrop Hinge”. According to officials, the screen remains flat after long-term use.
HUAWEI Pocket 2 supports 2-meter IPX8 water resistance and supports two-way Beidou satellite messaging.
As for specifications, HUAWEI Pocket 2 uses a 6.94-inch 21:9 ratio internal screen (2690 × 1136) with a peak brightness of 2200nits and supports 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. The external screen uses a LTPO full screen (340 x 340), supporting 1-60Hz LTPO adaptive update rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate.
The phone has a built-in 4520mAh battery, which supports 66W wired super fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging. It only takes 30 minutes to charge to 85% and 50% of the power respectively. For the first time in this generation, an “emergency mode” is introduced, which can be used when the power is low. In 1% of cases, the phone can still support 5 hours of standby or 30 minutes of calls.
In terms of shooting performance, HUAWEI Pocket 2 is equipped with a 50-megapixel F1.6 lens + an 8-megapixel telephoto lens + a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens.
HUAWEI Pocket 2 provides three versions of 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM, 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM, and 12GB RAM + 1TB ROM. The prices are respectively RMB 7,499, RMB 7,999, and RMB 8,999. The artistic customized version only provides one version of 16GB RAM + 1TB ROM. version, priced at RMB 10,999. It will be available for pre-order from now on and will be officially launched on March 1st.
