Apple’s much-anticipated first foldable phone, iPhone Duo, was finally officially unveiled at its autumn conference yesterday (10th), and was personally unveiled by new CEO John Ternus. The birth of the new phone not only heralds the iPhone into a new folding era, but also symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter for Apple under the helm of Ternus.
iPhone Duo is undoubtedly the protagonist of Apple’s press conference. Compared with its competitor Samsung, it joined the folding phone battle 7 years later. Apple chose a “wider and shorter” body ratio for the iPhone Duo, equipped with a 5.4-inch outer screen and an inner screen of 7.6 inches when unfolded. One of the most difficult problems to avoid when folding mobile phones is creases. Apple does not claim to make creases disappear. Instead, it focuses on the screen surface material, hinge design and structure to reduce the presence of creases. The inner screen of iPhone Duo uses special nano-texture surface treatment technology to reduce glare and reflection, making creases less obvious. At the same time, optically transparent adhesive is used to allow the layers of the screen to slide smoothly when folded, dispersing the pressure generated during bending, further minimizing creases. iPhone Duo also emphasizes durability. As for the camera, the iPhone Duo’s rear lens uses a 48-megapixel fusion main camera and ultra-wide-angle lens. In addition to the Center Stage front camera, there is also a FaceTime camera under the inner screen, but it does not include an independent telephoto lens. The official price of iPhone Duo starts at 74,900 yuan, and the 2TB top model is 118,900 yuan.
iPhone 18 Pro series introduces variable aperture
The new generation iPhone 18 Pro series was simultaneously unveiled at the press conference, maintaining the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and the 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro. The biggest highlight of the two Max models is that the 48-megapixel fused main camera introduces a variable aperture for the first time. The six delicate laser-cut aperture blades are controlled by a wheel structure, which can smoothly switch between different apertures and automatically adjust according to the depth of field and light, further improving low-light shooting and depth-of-field control performance. AirPods and Apple Watch new products released together
