SAMSUNG recently pushed the seventh Beta version of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series, indicating that the stable version will be released soon. The most high-profile highlight of this upgrade is that the manufacturer has officially decentralized the Call Brief function that was originally exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series. This feature not only brings a smarter call experience, but also quietly solves the computing problem of cross-time zone calls, bringing great convenience to users who often contact overseas customers or relatives and friends.
Although this update focuses on the software level, One UI 9 also receives upgrades in the visual and operating interface. The system continues the smooth layout design and introduces the Now Brief custom card interface on Galaxy Z Fold 8 to the large screen of the Galaxy S26 series. Users can more flexibly configure weather and calendar information on the screen. Coupled with the high refresh rate LTPO AMOLED screen of the flagship phone, the overall visual experience and smoothness are more integrated, whether it is daily swiping or browsing the new call interface.
In terms of core functions, the focus of this upgrade is undoubtedly the Call Brief function based on Personal Data Intelligence. When a user makes an international long-distance call, the system will call the AI computing power of the built-in SoC to automatically display the other party’s local time and time zone on the call interface. This means that users do not need to jump out of the screen or rely on third-party apps to calculate time, effectively avoiding disturbing others late at night.
