Apple’s new generation iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to be officially unveiled on September 10, Taiwan time. However, in addition to new features worthy of attention this year, the price may also become the biggest focus. Affected by the sharp increase in the cost of components such as memory, the iPhone 18 Pro series is bound to increase in price. The only difference is “how much it will increase.”
At present, various parties still have different opinions on the growth rate of the iPhone 18 Pro series. According to the latest report from market research agency TrendForce, the estimated growth rate may be between 10% and 20%. If we take the current selling price of the iPhone 17 Pro series in Taiwan as a benchmark, and estimate based on Apple’s common “XX,900 yuan” pricing method in Taiwan, the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro may fall between 43,900 yuan and 47,900 yuan, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max may start from 49,900 yuan, with a maximum price of 53,900 yuan.
10% increase? 15%? 20%?
If we estimate a more conservative price increase of 10%, the lowest price of iPhone 18 Pro may increase from 39,900 yuan to 43,900 yuan, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max may increase from 44,900 yuan to 49,900 yuan. The capacity of each series will increase by approximately 4,000 to 7,000 yuan.
If the increase expands to 15%, the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro may reach 45,900 yuan, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be 51,900 yuan. The entire series is expected to increase in price by about 6,000 to 11,000 yuan.
As for if it is really increased by 20%, the price will be more sensible. The starting price of iPhone 18 Pro will be raised to 47,900 yuan, and the starting price of iPhone 18 Pro Max will be 53,900 yuan. The price of the entire series will increase by approximately 8,000 to 15,000 yuan, with the highest-end 2TB even approaching 87,900 yuan. However, the market also generally believes that Apple should absorb some of the costs on its own and is unlikely to pass on all cost pressures to consumers at once, so the final increase may not be “so exaggerated.”

As for why Apple faces so much pressure to increase prices this year, the key remains the cost of components. TrendForce pointed out that the iPhone 18 Pro series faces quite severe cost challenges. Taking the 256GB model as an example, the memory procurement cost increased by 400% compared with the previous year. Even if Apple continues to require the supply chain to lower the prices of other components, it will still be difficult to fully offset the pressure caused by the increase in overall bill of materials (BOM) costs.
