Xiaomi’s first wide folding screen Xiaomi 18 Fold has new news today (September 4). In addition to appearing at the IFA 2026 venue for foreign media to take the lead, the official also officially announced its screen plan: both the internal and external screens are equipped with super pixel full RGB arrangement technology as standard, and will be officially released on September 7!
In terms of appearance and screen, the new phone was shown at IFA with a bright red body, a short and wide “passport” shape, and rounded corners. Foreign media observed that the crease on the main screen is almost invisible at most angles; the internal and external screen sizes are 7.58 inches and 5.38 inches respectively, and also use a standard paper ratio of approximately √2:1. In terms of screen technology, the number of super pixels with full RGB array sub-pixels reaches 9.389 million, compared with 9.216 million of traditional 2K diamond-like rows. The equivalent resolution is increased from 0.8 to 1. The power consumption is lower at the same brightness, and the peak brightness is as high as 4,000 nits (30% APL). The inner screen is equipped with AR anti-reflective film.
In terms of core hardware and functions, the new phone will be equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed XRing O3 chip. Previous benchmark data has confirmed its performance, and the system will be preloaded with the latest HyperOS.
In terms of camera combination, there is a perforated front lens in the upper right corner of the inner screen, and a three-lens visor-type module is used on the back, which is expected to be a main lens, telephoto and ultra-wide-angle combination. In terms of sales information and pricing, Xiaomi 18 Fold will be officially released on September 7. The price has not yet been officially announced, and the Hong Kong listing news has not yet been announced.
