Global wearable device shipments fell slightly in 2026 Q2! HUAWEI firmly holds the top spot, Apple Watch exclusively controls nearly half of the smart watch market

The authoritative research organization Omdia recently released its global wearable device market report for the second quarter of 2026. Data showed that overall shipments fell slightly, but the high-end smartwatch market continued to grow. With its rich product line, HUAWEI ranks first in total global shipments with a market share of 18%; in the independent smart watch segment, Apple Watch accounts for nearly half of the market with a 46% advantage.

Market research organization Omdia recently released the latest report on global wearable wristband devices in the second quarter of 2026. Data show that the overall global shipments of wearable wristband devices fell by 2% year-on-year in this quarter, reflecting the obvious differentiation trend in overall market demand. Among them, the high-end smart watch market maintained a growth trend, with shipments increasing by 6% year-on-year; in comparison, basic bracelet shipments fell by 9% year-on-year, and entry-level basic smart watches also declined. In addition, the momentum of the Indian market, which had grown rapidly in the past, has significantly slowed down, indicating that consumer demand is gradually concentrating towards the two poles. Some users tend to choose screen-less health tracking bracelets with minimalist designs, while other consumers are more interested in smart watches with full functions and professional sports monitoring.

In the overall shipment list of wearable wristband devices (including bracelets and smart watches), HUAWEI ranked first with a global market share of 18%, and its market share increased by 1 percentage point compared with the same period last year. HUAWEI’s ability to maintain its market advantage is mainly due to the continuous improvement of its product matrix across all categories. Its flagship children’s cellular smart watch has been successfully launched into the global market, expanding the growth space in overseas markets. At the same time, its cross-platform adaptability and health monitoring technology continue to attract more consumer groups. Xiaomi (including Redmi) ranks second with a market share of 17%, mainly relying on entry-level bracelets and affordable smart watches to maintain basic shipment scale. Apple ranks third with a market share of 16%, and the three leading manufacturers together account for more than half of the world’s total shipments.

However, if the focus turns to the independent “smart watch” subcategory, the market structure presents a different picture. Apple’s Apple Watch maintains strong strength in the global smart watch field, with a market share of 46%, accounting for almost half of the market, and its market share is significantly ahead of the other top five manufacturers. In the list of smart watches, Samsung and Garmin also achieved 15% market share, ranking second and third respectively; HUAWEI ranked fourth with a market share of 7%; and XTC (Little Genius), which focuses on the field of children’s watches, ranked fifth with a market share of 6%.
