Apple launched its first slim mobile phone, iPhone Air, last year. Although the market response was “approval but not popular”, in terms of design aesthetics, iPhone Air is indeed eye-catching. It is rumored that Apple has no plans to abandon this product line and will still launch the second-generation iPhone Air 2 next year. However, the newly exposed exterior design turned out to be “retrograde in appearance”.
The biggest selling point of iPhone Air is its thin and elegant appearance, but in pursuit of ultimate slimness, camera and battery specifications are also sacrificed. Multiple sources have previously pointed out that the iPhone Air 2 will undergo a significant upgrade. The original single main lens is expected to be added to an ultra-wide-angle or telephoto lens, with ultra-wide-angle being the most likely. The battery capacity is also expected to be further increased, no longer just the 3,149mAh of the previous generation.

According to the latest revelation from technology blogger Lanzuk, since the iPhone Air 2 also features a slim body, the internal space is still quite tight, so after adding a second lens, it may adopt a very special arrangement. The two lenses will be placed at the left and right ends of the horizontal camera row on the back (officially called the “expansion platform” by Apple), with the flash sandwiched in the center.
Lanzuk also showed a schematic diagram, with two lenses on the left and one on the right, which made many netizens laugh and call it a “weird pair of eyes.” However, it should be noted that this picture is for illustration only and does not represent the actual design of iPhone Air 2.
The authenticity has yet to be confirmed, and foreign media are not too willing to pay for it.
There is currently no other news to support this revelation, and its authenticity remains to be seen. Foreign media believe that if Apple really adopts this arrangement, it may destroy the simple and elegant beauty of iPhone Air, and even lose the familiar “Apple flavor”.
