HONOR officially announced that the concept flagship HONOR Robot Phone, which has attracted much market attention, will be officially unveiled on August 12. This phone is positioned as the world’s first “robot phone”. Its most eye-catching feature is that it is the world’s first to be equipped with a purely self-developed 4D mechanical gimbal main mirror, which directly breaks the design framework of previous smartphones in terms of photography.
HONOR Robot Phone is equipped with a high-standard three-camera combination, including a 200-megapixel F1.6 23mm main lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and has built-in support for professional-grade ARRI color direct function.
The core of this system is that its main lens adopts a hidden robotic arm gimbal design. When the camera is not in use, the robotic arm will be completely stored inside the fuselage, maintaining the simple appearance of the phone. When shooting is needed, the user can unfold the robotic arm with just one click, and then turn on professional recording functions such as 360-degree rotation tracking, automatic composition, and target following.
In order to solve the shaking problem during dynamic shooting, the new machine adopts a comprehensive solution that combines three-axis anti-shake, 4DoF robotic arm gimbal, independent gimbal collaboration chip, and AI algorithm. This combination enables the anti-shake capability to reach CIPA 5.5, which greatly improves the image stability in running or moving scenes.
In terms of basic specifications, based on currently known information, the HONOR Robot Phone will use a 6.3 to 6.4-inch 1.5K quadrilateral direct screen and be equipped with the latest generation fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition flagship chip, providing quite sufficient performance support.
In addition to hardware innovation, HONOR Robot Phone will also be equipped with a large terminal-side YOYO model, which has the capabilities of emotional perception, active care and content recommendation. It can also dispatch the brand’s full-scenario ecological equipment to further deepen the synergy between the AI system, mechanical structure and imaging hardware.
Market news points out that because this 4D gimbal adopts a completely self-developed structure, the R&D and manufacturing costs are extremely high. According to supply chain cost estimates, the cost of the phone has exceeded 15,000 yuan, and the final launch price is very likely to exceed many current folding screen flagship products.
