HUAWEI announced that it will hold a global launch event in Kuala Lumpur on July 14, 2026. In addition to the Pura 90s series flagship previously announced, the latest official promotional materials also confirm that the new tablet HUAWEI MatePad Air 2026 will be unveiled at the same event.
According to the latest trailer released by HUAWEI on its official social platform, the body structure of the new generation MatePad Air 2026 is thinner and lighter than the previous generation product. In terms of color matching, the manufacturer has introduced a variety of pastel colors for the new machine, including pink, light green and sky blue. In line with the promotional slogan “Fresh Air, Your Spark”, the overall visual style is more fresh.
The teaser image also shows exclusive accessories for MatePad Air 2026, including a stylus and an ultra-thin keyboard. This means that while maintaining the entertainment experience, the new machine still regards document processing and mobile productivity as its core selling points.
In terms of appearance design, the most significant difference from the previous generation MatePad Air is the layout of the camera module on the back. The camera module of the 2025 version of MatePad Air adopts a design style similar to that of the nova 12 Ultra mobile phone. It has a thick pill-shaped frame and is arranged internally into a large ring with two vertical small rings. The overall visual style is relatively tough.
As for the upcoming MatePad Air 2026, the manufacturer has obviously adopted a new design solution. The new phone uses a slender pill-shaped module with smooth edges. The lens and LED flash are surrounded by a thick frame of the same color as the back of the phone, making the entire camera module slightly raised. This transitional design of the same color makes the back of the machine look more concise and integrated.
At present, HUAWEI has not announced the processor specifications, screen parameters and pricing information of MatePad Air 2026 in detail. The actual hardware configuration and upgrade details have yet to be officially announced at the global launch event on July 14.
