According to the latest news from foreign media, Apple is planning to launch newly upgraded 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro flagship tablets in the spring of 2027. There are not expected to be major changes in the appearance of the fuselage. The core of the upgrade will focus on comprehensive renovations of internal hardware performance and specifications.
Recently, Bloomberg revealed that the new generation iPad Pro is expected to use M6 or the latest generation M7 chip. Apple will be the first to introduce the M6 chip in the 14-inch MacBook Pro as soon as the end of this year; the more powerful M7 chip is set to be released in the first half of 2027. If the mass production progress of the M7 chip successfully catches up with the release in the spring of 2027, the new iPad Pro is expected to directly jump to equipped with this flagship chip; otherwise, it will maintain the use of the M6 chip. It is worth noting that no matter which processor is ultimately used, both will be based on TSMC’s latest 2nm advanced process, but the M7 chip will additionally have an optimized architecture specifically designed for artificial intelligence (AI).
In order to further unleash the ultimate performance, Apple is currently testing the introduction of a “Vapor Chamber” cooling system for the iPad Pro, which will significantly improve the overheating and frequency reduction problem of past tablets under high-speed computing.
Details about the tablet are still confidential, but it is expected that these two top-of-the-line iPad Pro models will be unveiled together with the iPhone 18e, iPhone 18 and the new thin iPhone Air 2, which are also scheduled to be released in the spring of 2027. This will surely set off a new wave of technology topics and replacements.
